Ms. Ana Nunez

Fifth Grade

My name is Ana Nuñez. I was born in Honduras. I wanted to become a teacher ever since I can remember. Reading is my special subject. As English being my second language, coming to the United States and learning it, gave me many personal experiences with many amazing educators I met throughout the school. Those experiences helped me get tools to teach reading to other students as a teacher.  Prior to getting my teaching degrees, I was a Preschool Teacher for 5 years where I started creating lesson plans, assessments, and many interactive activities for all children while I was training to become a teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education K-12 and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading Education. I have been teaching at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School for nine years, two of which I taught 4th Grade, two for 2nd grade, two for Junior High 6th -8th Grade Reading, and the last three years incorporated 5th Grade. Reading is a fundamental part of the school, and as an educator, I try to make it engaging for all students. I incorporate novels, short stories, videos, acting out stories, & encourage them to read books they enjoy. As a teacher, I believe all children can reach a high potential with the help of their surroundings.
